Assessment of effectivenessEnd of year examination data and key assessment data from English and maths is used to assess the effectiveness of progress. From 2016-17 progress in reading age as measured by Accelerated Reader will also be used in assessing progress.
7 students started Y7 at level 3. By the end of Y7, 4 of these students had reached level 4 and 3 students level 5.
One student started Y7 below level 3 they reached level 3 by the end of the year.
Five students started Y7 at level 3, four out of five students reached level 4 by the end of the year.
From September 2016 the Accelerated Reader reading programme will be overseen by the SENCO working alongside the librarian. Small group tuition will continue to provide the core of intervention for students.

Three students started Y7 at level 3 in maths.
By the end of Y7, two students had reached L4 and one student level 5.
Two students started Y7 below level 3, one reached level 3 by the end of the year.
Eight students started Y7 at level 3, five reached level 4 by the end of the year.
From September 2016 small group tuition using a tailored intervention programme under the guidance of the head of mathematics will be supported by a lunchtime times table club which will consolidate basics using maths mentors (students helpers).
