Cartmel Priory has been one of Cumbria's top schools for progress for a number of years. The 2017 cohort entered from primary school with SATs scores below the national average and left with GCSEs above the national average.

 *The school has a policy of free choice as to whether pupils chose to study the E-Baccalaureate. In 2017 9% of the 10% of students who entered the E-Bacc passed. 26% of students achieved good GCSEs in two separate sciences + a humanity + a modern foreign language.
