New Headteacher In Post
I am delighted and honoured to have succeeded Dr Williams as Head Teacher at Cartmel Priory Church of England School. I have spent the first few weeks meeting with staff and students. I have also started to get to know parents and members of the wider community, having relocated with my husband over the summer holiday from the Midlands. My family is very familiar with the area and is thankful for the welcome received whilst settling into the locality. I was previously Deputy Head Teacher at a school in Coventry which shared a similar ethos. I strongly believe that education in the 21st century is about developing children holistically to be ready for adult life. Cartmel Priory School provides the right balance of outstanding pastoral care and high quality learning experiences, alongside academic challenge. This is a formula which is consistently successful in developing students to be independent and resilient learners who are ambitious for their futures. This is a unique school; set in beautiful rural surroundings and only one of two Church of England Secondary schools in Cumbria. The school strongly believes in supporting students to ‘live life to the full’. There is a committed staff who know every student individually and who work to secure the futures of our young people in every decision that they make. I am very much looking forward to leading Cartmel Priory School forward in this new chapter in its history.
